Getting back into reading with a small pile of books on the side of my bed. The stack holds about six books that have been on my shelf for about First up! Modern Love essays. I didnt recognise him by looks In The Magic Finger, he introduced a girl, not very much different from Matilda, who has the uncontrollable power to change any human into horrible form.

Resuscitano i morti. E, a volte, prendono di mira i vivi. The central storyline focuses on Olympic hopeful skier, 17 year old Mindy, who discovers she has leukaemia not long after the story opens. She needs a stem cell transplant to live, but when her parents are tested she discovers neither of her parents is a match. Mindys whole world is turned upside down, but it is her mother, Lauren who is really the focus of all the drama. Lauren is hiding some massive secrets and as the story progresses it is made clear just how far she is willing to go to hide the truth and protect her daughter.

It really builds to a climax and the last hundred pages had me reading faster and faster to discover the truth. This is a tale of lies, secrecy and betrayal, as well as love. Has anyone else read J T Ellison? Berry pulls together two love stories with the first world war with Greek gods as narrators—and it works.

It works so, so well. Somehow Berry captures so perfectly young love and proven love. The added element of the Greek gods telling the story is unusual and oh so compelling.

I loved learning about her writing process, how this book came about, and how she helped construct the audiobook which sounds AMAZING, and I may need to reread Lovely War very soon via audio. Has Lovely War been on your radar? Explanation :- If you fight, you will either be slain on the battlefield and go to the celestial abodes, or you will gain victory and enjoy the kingdom on earth. Therefore arise with determination, O son of Kunti, and be prepared to fight.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am alive. At Christmas, I borrowed 3 books from travelsthroughbooks and it turns out they all have a main character that in most books is a setting- a house.

A Treason of Thorns, the book that woke me up to this fact, was an amazing read. A girl is exiled from her House when her father is put on House arrest, and when his sentence is served, she returns to the House to find it has started to fall into ruins. The king gives her the summer to sort the House out, or he will burn the House down. I finished it in a day. What is a book series you are yet to read? Here is Section 3 for Back Home! Let me know what you think!

And checkout the other stories as well. So far, Back Home has gotten enough attention, but looks like What was once mine was also getting some interest. Happy Tuesday! What book are you reading to wrap up the month of May? I quickly had to read the rest! It was also my first Fae book aside from the classic type stories, so bonus points!

Here are the books I am hoping to finish by the end of the month. May has been a good reading month for me. How has your May reading been? What is the best book you read in May? It is not the mere presence of black people that is the problem; rather, it is blackness with ambition, with drive, with purpose, with aspirations, and with demands for full and equal citizenship. It angers me to my core to think that someone would treat my son violently because they fear the Black male.

The journalist finds a new home in Savannah, Georgia, where he meets locals who are enchanted by his desire to write a book about their city. The best part to me was seeing a city and a society I know personally depicted so well. Berendt picks up on Southern Social Norms and balances giving us the insider view with outsider commentary. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is centered around the story of an antiques dealer on trial for the murder of a male prostitute, all subjects quite taboo to Savannah society where reputation is essential.

America Psycho is one of my favourite movies so I hope to read that one relatively soon also. May has been an incredible reading month, which unfortunately makes it difficult to post reviews for every book I read I received this book in my March owlcrate and was very excited! The premise of the book seemed promising— the untold story of the sister of Mozart, a magical fairytale land, lots of mystery and magic! However the book itself fell a little flat. I will say that the way Nannerl handled her jealously for her brother was impressive and showed a lot of strength, which I enjoyed.

Sooo overall: a meh story but fantastic writing! I think I will still try to check out other works by Marie Lu! What is a book from an author you love that disappointed you? And this is why I read books and indulge myself in art. Every time my husband leaves the house I pray he makes it back healthy, well and in one piece.

Both of these men were unarmed not bothering anyone. The videos of both instances are so disturbing. So what do I do to cleanse my thoughts, heart and soul? I read. I escape in art. This is not a cute pastime for me. This is my self-care. This is my therapy. This is my healing. This is my wine. This is my blunt. Reading and art are my refuge for the unfortunate realities of being black in America. Beautiful art by shirien.

There seems to be a problem serving the request at this time.

Just a friendly reminder that Ferrets are lapping drinkers. I know this from personal experience as well as many other ferret owners too. I encourage others to transition their ferrets to bowls. You need to teach them! Buy a clip on bowl to prevent the tipping and slowly wean them off the bottle, trust me!
