The inaugural episode of Alpha Wave kicked off with three wildcard qualifying matches for entry into the featured Battle Royal in the Main Event. In the opening contest, Red Talon and Vikki Voxx pictured put on an excellent clash to kick things off. Vikki Voxx battled back to claim victory in this exciting bout. Two representatives from Rising Star Joshi Puroresu were up next, in yet another fast paced encounter.
Overcoming the odds, the high-flying feline sealed victory with a Blue Thunder powerbomb. In this chaotic trios tag team encounter, Amy Mazana was looking to get the measure of her bitter rival, Chantal Wynter. Yet in the end, it was Wynter that would have the upper hand in this feud, pinning Mazana cleanly to earn the victory. Trixie had guaranteed her victory in the Battle Royal and looked set to make good on her promise as she outlasted favourites, Felina Wyld and Varetta Jordan.
Trixie was stunned and equally furious at the result. Vikki Voxx had gone from outside hopeful to number one contender in one night. Alpha Wave will concentrate on fast paced action, with light heavyweight bouts and tag team wrestling. The opening contest of the tournament saw host nation Italy take on first time qualifiers, Colombia.
Ariel Espinoza quickly took control of the match, executing a series of moves, including a stiff looking neckbreaker, which picked up the first fall of the contest. Zino fought back immediately, applying a neck crank and resorting to dirty tactics. Espinoza countered with a running knee strike and a clothesline sent Zino crashing to the floor outside the ring.
When the action resumed in the ring, the Italian battled back with a backstabber and a top rope elbow drop. However, this failed to earn a three count for the plucky Italian. Frustrated, Zino lost her concentration and fell again to another vicious looking neckbreaker, this put the Colombian two falls ahead.
With the clock ticking down, Zino now regained her stride and fought hard to pick up a fall, ironically with a neckbreaker of her own. The Italian dominated the remainder of the match, but it was all too late. Ariel Espinoza managed to hang on to her narrow lead and took the victory in the first of what would be many upsets in the WIW World Cup. This looked on paper to be a very interesting encounter of these two amazing athletes. Arisa Ikari was a favourite to advance and go on to win the tournament, her opponent, Cadence Walker was a rising star, who could very well cause an upset, just as Ariel Espinoza had done in the previous bout.
Ikari took the fight to Walker in the early stages of the contest, hitting some high impact moves, but the New Zealander briefly mounted a comeback. The Japanese Legend fought back into the match and took the first fall with an Ikari Driver. Arisa Ikari had little time to celebrate as Cadence Walker leveled the contest with a top rope leg drop.
Arisa Ikari took the contest when she used a modified falcon arrow to take the lead and what would be the full three points on offer.
She was now level on points with Ariel Espinoza, who she would face in her next match. She will be joined by Alexis King and Misha Jasah, both of whom have a wealth of experience between them.
The German powerhouse will look to go one step further this time, and claim the championship that eluded her two years ago. Eden Love struggled to qualify this year and she will have to improve her game if she is to progress to the knockout stage of the tournament.
Hanna Vostrova is a powerful wrestler that is more than capable of advancing, while Gabi Eboku is the least experienced woman competing in the Finals and will have her work cut out for her.
The qualifying results for the WIW World Cup were as follows, with each continent holding hosted groups to find qualifiers for the Tournament Finals. Plus of course, the host nation, Italy, and the reigning champions, the United States. All of whom appeared at the previous tournaments and , yet failed to qualify this year. The next announcement will focus on the qualifying results, followed by the draw for the Group Stage of the tournament and the winning odds for each competitor.
Hosted this year by Italy, all matches will emanate from Rome as their representative and reigning WIW European Champion, Valeria Zino, hopes to also bring the WIW World Championship to Italy, for a second time after their last success in and inaugural winners of the tournament. The winner, Liberty pictured , who represented t … he United States, will not be taking part this year. As a veteran performer, Liberty has taken a lighter schedule and now passes the torch to Texas gal, Tayla Ryan, to take her place and represent the United States as the reigning champions.

Verra won after a hurracanrana and rolling senton splash. Facing veteran brute, Kahula, Barbosa stunned the crowd with an impressive performance, defeating Kahula in just four minutes. The prudish one faced Tarelle Austin, and quickly berated the young performer for what she was wearing. Chastity was relentless in her treatment of Tarelle Austin, gouging, choking, stomping, raking her eyes. Thankfully the referee stepped in and put an end to the contest, awarding the match to Sister Chastity because Austin could not continue.
The veteran once again blatantly abusing the rules to her advantage. It would be Phoenix however, that would take this victory, one which was hard earned and a surprise to many in attendance.
